GUYS!!!! Its been 7 months since my last post. Let's see, 7 months ago would be...like...June 2013! Geez. Happy New Year! One thing I've learned in that time, is that I'm bad at keeping a blog.
The last 7 months have taught me alot. I've learned alot more about trusting God and loving my husband. (FYI, my husband and I just celebrated our 1st anniversary just 2 weeks ago). I've learned what it's like to quit a good job to follow the Lord into a new opportunity. I've learned what its like when you don't know what you're doing but somehow things work out. That's been my favorite lesson.
I find that when I truly acknowledge the Lord and his hand in my successes, things go better. Who knew right? Truthfully, I should have known. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to "Trust in the Lord, and ACKNOWLEDGE Him" in everything we do. Well, sure, it's easy to acknowledge Him when your life is just as you imagined. When I was a student, "God helped me with that test." "God was with me on that retreat!" When I was a newlywed, "God brought my Husband to me." Its so easy to point small things to God. To give Him the credit. But when things stopped being perfect? I was learning to Trust the Lord. And that gets easier when you know what He's doing.
During the Christmas season, I was EXTREMELY busy with my new job organizing the Christmas programs for a non-profit. I knew from the beginning that it was God that set things in motion for me to get this job and He's still working in it. Each time something would go wrong, someone wouldn't be where they need to be, my boss would freak out on me, something would go missing, things like that. I learned that if I stepped back and let God show me what He was up to, I'd see He was always up to something. I'd get a conversation with someone and moment of witness, or I'd see the bigger picture that didn't include that missing piece of paper. Each time something went wrong, I pointed toward Heaven and whispered a prayer that God would watch out for His children (the one's my organization set out to help). It was more of an acknowledgement that God was already looking out for each children. Just like He looks after the birds and the flowers, He looks after us (Matthew 6:25-34).
As I continue to acknowledge the Lord's hand in my life, and in the life of my husband, I am learning more and more that He knows where He wants us to be, even if we don't. He's always up to something. We just have to wait - - - - - patiently and faithfully.
Also, shop my Avon Store, youravon.com/mrsbrooks. Its another thing I'm learning.
